Need advice on restored MKII

I had my Tiger totally restored. I do mean totally. It's just about done and the restoration guy wants to know if he's to paint or use tape for my stripes. ( He dooesn't want to do anything, he likes it plain.) I want to sell this car and have it as original as it can be, so that means stripes. So do I have him paint them on or do I go the vinyl route. I personally think paint; I'm not the vinyl type. (God forbid you can a stone chip or scatch. I think the tape is then shot, paint can be repaired) What's you opinion? I've spent to much money on this car to make a wrong decision now. Any imput would be appreciated.

The mkii stripes were a decal.. Do if you want original... Has to be the vynil.
About 3 years back someone made some correct stripe kits

It seems like you could have some type of removable vinyl.
I sure wouldn't put paint on there because paint isn't correct and if it's not correct you shouldn't bother. I have a car with loads of bruises scratch and don't sniff damage :) some cars kind of look better with the white stripes and a white top It's a very British car look. It's likely if I were in your shoes I would let the next guy do it. It's a personal taste some people will personalize, and some will go the other way and unpersonalize them. Look at Millner's MK2 on BaT I don't think anybody complained and said that's a really nice car too bad it doesn't have the stripes.

Got the stripes from Dale’s, since the original was painted over and you could see the lines used the vinyl stripe over top. Made it look less noticable.

JlrMkll, I had stripes on this for a long time, I had the choice to put them on again but left them off for a change. I don’t mind the “clean” look. Good suggestion above to let the next owner decide.

I wouldn't trust the opinion of the owner of that car... Sneaky fellow... Lowers his car.. Ads all sorts of performance goodies but in a way that you cant tell.... Sneaky fellow 😂
