This one should be easy for someone to post a pic of how the little metal washer bottle bracket attaches to the right inside wing of the car. I have a new washer bottle that I purchased through SS and I also have the metal basket that the bottle sits in. I don't have the metal strip that would bolt the basket to the car. I should be able to fabricate one out of aluminum if I know what it looks like and where it attaches. Just need a clear pic of the metal bracket and where it bolts to the car. I think a may know where it bolts to the inner fender but want to be sure. My car is a MK1A so I don't think the MKII bracket would be correct. Thanks everyone ahead of time.

Dave cant give you a picture, but its just a long L shape bracket with a small L part that allows the bolt to mount into the tab thats off the guard... try a google image search of tiger engine bay

Thanks guys. Your descriptions and pics gave me enough info to make one. I really appreciate the help.

I sold my last original bracket but made one for a pattern...I used 1/8" x 3/4" flat bar which I think is a few thou thicker but very close
It's 2 7/8" high and the 90° bend is about 1 1/8" long. Holes are 1 13/16" centers and the top hole is 13/16" down from the top
Hope that helps...

I have SS Rick's Rootes reproduction washer bottle, but I need the basket it fits into.

Thanks to 66TigerMK1A I now know what the attachment bracket looks like! I can make that.

I found this on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Windscreen-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item27e9c08026&vxp=mtr

Does anyone know if the Tudor washer bottle bracket fits the SS Rootes bottle? It's kind of expensive to get a $45 bottle set from England if it is not going to work.

Or maybe there an alternative?

Thanks,
Mike

I would ask the guy selling the basket to measure the round opening and be sure its close to what your rootes washer bottle is. If the bottle fits the basket it looks to me you would be good to go. I think I read someplace that some bottles were a different diameter for other cars so the basket needs to fit your Rootes reproduction bottle.

dstephns, You were right. The Tudor bottle for sale on Ebay was 70 mm in diameter, and the Rootes repro one I have is 90 mm in diameter. So the basket is a no go...

Just keep your eyes out for a basket showing up on ebay. They will eventually.
That's how I came across my basket. My basket measures about 3 7/8" across (measured outside to outside). What may be more difficult to find is the little brass nozzle that goes on the top of the lid and attaches to the strainer tube. I found one on ebay in the UK. Had to pay more than I wanted and the seller didn't initially want to deal with shipping to the US. He was great and did it anyway.
good Luck.

How/where does the bracket attach?

Re dstephns request for pic: I have a '66 Mk1A and am trying to figure out how to install the washer bottle container and bracket. Having tried positioning the bracket in many different ways nothing seems to fit right, kind of like a jigsaw puzzle. If anyone has a pic showing the bracket's installation on the inside of the fender it would be a great help.
Happy Holidays!

You have the wrong bracket :O
Correct one is about 1/8" X 3/4" material with a 90° bend ... I have a detailed description on page 1 of this thread

edit: added pic of bracket in engine compartment...

Thank you Jim! Now I can stop messing around with this little piece of metal all over my engine compartment.
Much obliged,
Bill

The bracket is the one used to mount the washer bottle on an Alpine in the area where the Tiger brake booster had to be relocated. The bracket on the inner fender where the Tiger washer bottle bracket mounts is the bracket for the brake booster band of the Alpine series 4 which was the basis of a Mk 1. Series 5 Alpines had the same bracket for the booster but used a Tudor washer bag installed on the left inner fender.

Bill Thats one of the alpine brackets. The tiger one is an L shape installed upside down at the front right of engine bay

Thank you all for your suggestions! Looks like I'm in the market for an L bracket and am checking online. The specs Jim offered on page 1 make fabricating the bracket a good alternative. We'll see.
Thanks again and Happy New Year!
