Anyone catch the reference to our cars in the November issue of HOT ROD magazine? They did an interview with one of their old time staff members, Eric Dahlquist. Apparently, he did not like driving one of our cars. His loss....

Well at least he was honest, they are not a fun car to drive when they are stock, tires to small crappy rear gear, hydraulic clutch leaking, hot hot inside, crappy wipers.

The stock un-restored Tiger i have driven here i found a lovely car.. surprisingly good ride, quiet and relaxed. I would say that you wouldn't want to throw it into corners.. but then again a stock tiger wasnt really meant as a road burner or slick handling sports car.. it was really done as a grand tourer.. and as a GT.. it does a good job.
if you want to throw it round or drag race it.. you need traction bars, LSD.. wider wheels and tyres.. better springs and shocks etc.. and sure.. other cars will still be better thanks to the steering and heavy engine up front.. . The car was good at what Rootes made it for.. it was not good as a hot rod in stock form. All depends how you drive them and what you want out of them.
i say 1 of each... and if it doesn't suit this guys tastes... sure.. hey they cars are far from perfect.. but also far from a dog .. they are slightly furry cat

He seemed to hate the 427 Cobra even more than the Tiger? Wow.
To each his own though he did like the 400 Firebird. I had one of those and couldn't sell it fast enough. That was a heavy and evil handling beast.
I did like the twin scoops on the hood.

His opinion be frank and to the point fer sure. Having been a year round Tiger driver (back in the new days) I can agree with the internal climate issues. The heater worked very well in the summer and froze in the winter. As for the big block Cobra, my kidneys still ache after 45 years. But it was fun for a bit. The newer CSX 6XXX series are a bit more domestic with the fat American seats, suspension mods, etc. The 400, I never liked, but it did run & drift very well.
