Was at the local drag strip with the Tiger in Oct. A nice cool day with light winds and a decent track prep. Here's the timeslip from a 2500 rpm launch with 3.27 gears (8.8 rear end) and 225/50 15 drag radials .

The ET timing starts at the same time the reaction timing stops. For example , if the light turns green and I wait 1 sec., then launch and run a 11.0 sec. ET , the time from the light turning green till I cross the finish line will be 12.0 sec .However , if a better drag racer drove the same car and had a .005 reaction time then his time from the light turning green till crossing the finish line would be 11.005 sec In both cases the ET stays 11.0 but the better racer wins because of a faster reaction time.

hugh,
that 's not too bad for an old guy! did you have the front wheels on the ground when you crossed the line?

Got it, oh well if you can find just a little more traction off the line you'll be in the 10's. What rolling radius are the tyres and what diff ratio are you running?

The tires are Mickey Thompson ET Street R 225/50/15 ( drag radial). They are 24.1 in. tall and I cross the finish at 5700rpm .The rear end is a Ford 8.8 with 3.27 gears. I did go back to the drag strip 3 weeks later after changing the distributor rotor and cap . However by then the ground temperature was too cold and the traction was poor.. I only managed a 1.7 60 foot time but still had a ET of 11.09 . My mph did increased to 127.2 . In regards to keeping all the tires on the ground , I had 2 different people tell me that i was pulling the left front tire 4-5 inches off the ground when I shifted to 2nd.
