Finally starting to rebuild my engine. What kind of fitting is used on the engine block for the oil pressure gauge? Is it a standard fitting that has a nipple on the end for the tube to the gauge? I don't believe that it is the same as the mustang hex extension, correct?

Thanks,

Block oil gauge fitting

I had the exact same question about a year ago when I was putting my Tiger together. Someone here had the correct answer, which was:

it's a british fitting with a 1/4 pipe- part # bspp k4 connector --2fmk4s-
Parker Hannifin 2FMK4S

Armed with that information, I had no problem finding the correct adaptor in stock at a local hose supplier, which was not the Parker Hannafin brand, but they had a crossover chart for their part. The new CAT s/s braided oil gauge line I bought screwed right on to it. I did use about a 2" extension on the 1/4" pipe threads, which makes the line nut a little easier to get to.

Of course, a couple days later I was sorting through a box of left over hardware and found the original fitting...

Grab Everything

Thanks Bob,

Now I know what to look for. I was grabbing everything that looked car related and even some extras. Found the clutch pushrod but not yet on the clip.

Trial & Error

The fitting is actually "2-4FMK4S". This one has a 1/4" pipe fitting while the other had a 1/8" pipe fitting.

New numbers?

1074 and 1075 Bravo, how did you get em done push pull drag or drive em:)

TAC

The TAC guys at TEAE really worked with me to arrange a date to come to my garage, since both are still nonrunners.:D I lived in the middle between the 3 guys and they had another in the afternoon.

I am trying to get the MKI started by its' 50th BDAY on 2 Dec, hence the last ditch effort to find all the remaining engine pieces. Looks like I am competing with Duke with his display engine. After the PCV manifold fitting, I think the last thing is the carb return spring bracket, of which I am trying to get dimensions in order to fabricate.

Email list

I remember reading a bunch about the throttle spring brackets on the old email list. Even though you knew the cars were real , it sure is a sigh of relief getting your TAC triangles.

Man I hope its not too yucky to drive to on Dec. But what a feeling you will have, kinda like Dr. Frankenstein "It's Alive its alivvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. !!!!!! show us some more pics. You have seen my Tiger Den when you picked up your air cleaner.
Love to see your how you fit XXXXX lbs of cars into XX garage.

Rob has an awesome garage. What makes it so awesome? It is right in the middle of the city. People living on top of one another yet there is Rob's awesome garage...filled with cars and still room to work. I am so jealous. I live out in the "burbs" and I am cramming things into a single car garage.

Told me

I hope its roar and his sets off car alarms and the P.C. crowd .
My Ranchero does a real good job with car alarms,
