Original Bolts?

Hi All

I am slowly searching for and installing original bolts in some of the more conspicuous and less stressful locations on my Tiger. I am aware that bolts with the AUTO marking were used on Tigers. See photo.

My question is...Were any other bolts with different brand/type markings (beyond the letter designation for bolt strength) used on Tigers and were certain brands of bolts used in certain locations?

Thanks

Hi Jim, I'm starting to do the same thing you are to a car I put together years ago.

With that car I bought the Totally Stainless tiger bolt set and used grade 8 on structural connections.

It would be great if there was a definitive document that showed what every single fastener looked like, how/if they were plated, which ones were painted, etc..

If that exists somewhere let me know.

Here is the list from the TU site showing all the sizes and types of bolts and screws.

Not a trade secret

But it's treated like it.
I thought this link was nice help for other's looking for stock information.

There was talk of sharing a other training seminar but not a lot of action.
I recently got a really original car with 95000 miles. It has so many original fasteners it amazes me. But it is way later than you're car Jim. Just like the pan head screws that hold down the heater core cover. Some have circle in the head but not all, at least that's what the the discussion was about. Could vendors have changed and a new batch of screws been dumped ontop of the old ones in the bin back at the factory?

I put together the reference you posted. It was a huge effort completed after attending a training session out your way, conducted by all the smart Tiger people. It took many drafts each of which was reviewed and blessed by the individuals cited in the Introduction.

That is where I found out about the AUTO bolts. It seems, however, that other brands/types with different markings might have been used also. Hoping somebody might weigh in with some reasonably definitive info.

OBTW...I found the pan head screws for the heater core cover pretty easily.
