Please recommend Best Performing Stock Appearing Radiator

I'm finishing a Tiger that requires a STOCK appearing radiator that can utilize the stock shroud without modification.

I know Dale has an excellent Aluminum radiator that allows usage of the stock shroud, but I'm hoping to find a 'more' stock appearing radiator with good cooling performance.

Is there a consensus on the best options for this stock looking radiator?

Who is selling a stock copper radiator?

Thanks,

Rick

On theory there is only one option off the shelf I know which is the modtiger engineering copper one.

Otherwise just get your stock setup recored with a high efficiency core.

radiator

I have a modtiger radiator stock appearance other then a vent valve located top right corner that's used for purging system. They also added a bung for electric fan if needed. Sorry haven't used it yet so can't comment on how well it works, but after talking to Rob at modtiger I don't have any doubts. Kevin

I have had one of Rob's radiators in my Tiger for over 10 years. Works great. Been very happy with it.

Another vote for Rob's radiator. I run a single, electric pusher fan, no mechanical fan, no shroud and have no issues in CA heat/traffic. That's with a mildish, roller cam 306 engine :)

Original radiator

Rick,

I use an original recored Tiger radiator, a reduced diameter pulley and the 6 bladed Maverick fan in front of my 331 stroker and it works fine here in SoCal. I do have an electric 12" pusher fan just in case. IMHO the problem with the Tiger cooling system is air flow through the radiator.

Thanks a lot guys. I particularly like the idea of turning the impeller a bit faster at idle with the smaller diameter pulley. But I think I will start by finding an original radiator and having it re-cored. If that doesn't handle my needs I will move to the tigermod 'stock appearing version and/or the small pulley.

... the smaller diameter pulley.

Rick,
If you go with the sm. pulley - make sure your lower radiator hose has a spring in it because the pulley will make the hose more likely to collapse. If this happens you will definately have cooling problems.
There are previous posts addressing this issue and the simple correction of this problem.

David Franchi has been selling them on eBay for as long as I've had my car... last one was in July.

I'll PM you his email...
