CAT will host next year's Tigers United, which will be held June 16-19th, 2011, (Thursday through Sunday) in Long Beach, CA with the Queen Mary as the host hotel.
UPDATE May 23, 2011. The period for discounted rooms has closed.
The Queen Mary is now accepting room reservations. Roughly 3/4 of the rooms in our block have already been taken.
UPDATE 8/21/10: All of our room block has been reserved. The Hotel is still honoring our discounted rate but is no longer required to offer it. They can change the rate at any time so don't delay.
UPDATE 8/30/10 The Hotel has added additional Deluxe rooms to our TU block
UPDATE 2/10/11 The Hotel is still accepting reservations at our discounted rate but is starting to run short on Deluxe Staterooms.
To make a reservation, call (877) 342-0742 and tell them you are with the Tigers United Stateroom Block to receive our group discounted rates. (The reservation will not be considered “confirmed” by the hotel unless a deposit equal to one night’s rate is made. This deposit will be refunded if you cancel your room at any time up to 48 hours before your scheduled arrival.)
Most of the 40 rooms blocked for us are Deluxe Staterooms ($125/night) which have a king sized bed. Family rooms and Suites are also available. (Car parking is an additional $15/day with in/out privileges.)
UPDATE 2/9/11 CAT's contract with the Hotel allows us certain benefits based upon the level of room sales during the event by TU participants. We have enough reservations that the parking fee will be discounted from $15/day to $10/day for all registered TU participants. This assumes those that have reserved actually attend. However, since there is no way now for the Hotel to know the actual number of attendees, those making reservations will still be informed of the $15 fee even though the $10 rate will almost certainly apply.
Hint: Already, a number of us have had trouble booking the correct number of days for our stays (including myself). In "hotel-speak" telling reservations you want a room from the 16th through the 20th will get you a reservation for 3 nights. The last date is the morning of departure, not the last night you're staying, which is what I had intended. So if you want to arrive on Thursday and leave Monday morning (4 nights) you'll probably be more successful if you tell reservations you want to arrive on the 16th and depart on the 20th.
Looking forward to seeing you at TUXXXIII next June,
Buck Trippel
