Real Mk2 headlight bezels on Ebay

I have been thinking about repro socket and tommy bar for a while since I have an original car with complete tool kit. They are ideal candidates for 3-D printing; you either need a surfaced model or a scan of the actual part. To that end I have made drawings of the parts since my search of the Rootes Banbury archives did not turn up a copy. I did find the Rootes drawing for the tool bag however. I took the car to Tiger 50 in the UK this year so have been busy with that and a new house. If anyone has access to a 3-D system PM me.

I would imagine that Britool will/would have the drawings.
May be worth an e-mail. Who knows.

Not to run the thread totally off the rails...

Lee,
I shoulda thought about this when you had the thread open about ideas for repro parts... But what about doing some hardtop stainless trim for the back window? Certainly I'm jaded because I need a set, but seems like a fairly hard to find part that might be easy to make with the resources at your disposal. Considering how nice the air cleaners came out, I'd think it would be a good part to make.
Cheers, -Kevin

The hardtop stainless is an easy find on ebay current market $300 for a nice set. Rick sells the two small stainless pieces. I have an extra set but don't want to peddle it on this post, just that I don't believe the stainless is difficult to find with so many rusted hardtops in England and here. Lee

Picture sent to a friend , who own a MKII to see if he has the tool also sent to the steel shop who help us do our parts.
Will let you know how it goes . !!!!

Gilles, I was going to do a whole thread on the tool sets. The spark plug socket and wrench has a current ebay value of 1300 to 1500. There are options to display with your tool sets that are close and the current Britool a61 can be used as is or dechromed, ground and restamped to closely match the original. I have not found a close socket to the correct one with no brand and just a part number except one made by Britool. My current set up is shown in the third picture. A z numbered britool similar to the original. The socket is not close enough but for less than $20 shipped this set-up will do for my beater car until I can buy a reproduction for a couple hundred dollars. The fourth picture is the similar Britool socket that can be used close to the original. I don't believe the concourse judges should have any issue with that socket because it is correct Mfg style finish and size.

Reproduction of this tool is a great project and would meet a the great demand and deflate the market. The blue plastic tool bag is also in very high demand. I am looking for one of those. Lee

"Peaked" Mark II Headlight Bezels

Close-up... see attached. Guess you would call them "peaked" with the upper part more or less matching up with the upper front fender line.
