Retrimming

Hi I have been busy retrimming all the interior of my Tiger. All was going well until I retrimmed the centre console. It started well, using the same contact glue I used for all the other panels, I glued it to the console. The console had been derusted and had primer applied some years ago. After one side was glued, the front was glued and I had started the second side, I noticed large bubbles had formed on the first side. By the time I striped the vinyl off all sides had bubbles forming. What is the probable cause?

Was the primer applied 'years ago' lacquer based ?? The 'good' contact cement I normally use is lacquer based so the contact cement could be lifting the primer...

Sells a spray can. The pro's use a spray gun. If you are using brush applied for your project it's too thick and melting your paint.

Thanks warren, went back to the hardware and bought a different brand spray pack. I knew it would be better, no strong smell when using. The centre console now has brand new baby blue covering. Same as the rest of the trimming.:):):)

I used the spray adhesive on my whole interior (except the seats) and it held very well.
