RM Auctions March B382002093

Sold

My buddy and partner sold one for $3000 dollars. I can't pity the guy that has that kind of disposable income nor someone who doesn't have one:)

I am just kidding Bill, I say the same thing about an auction car with the clock delete motif... or the wrong clock :D

Wow!! The blue RM car went for US$125K plus buyers premium...US$137.5K total!

I'm surprised it got that close to Balmoral Grey car... but then again, I'm surprised a lot lately!

I'd want a clock and a cigar lighter for that much. ;)

This car should not have the spec plate below the VIN tag. They were long gone by this VIN number.

It's more re-assuring to a new buyer than 4 rivets that appear to have no purpose and have been randomly attached.

Actually... the car is such a late MK1A that they had long since stopped drilling those holes and filling them with 'original' rivets... some P.O. would have had to drill them

Nicer 'new' rivets on the spec plate than on the VIN tag ...

Agreed

Plus they look cool  point off only in a stock show format. I like em for the same exact reason.

Ya. I like the spec plate too but It's also funny to see the blank looks at shows when you try and explain to someone that those rivets were 'factory installed' to fill the 'factory drilled' holes that it took them about 1200 cars to figure out they weren't installing spec plates on anymore!:p

They are an interesting idiosyncrasy.
I can imagine that the union may have had something to do with the many that got the holes when they were no longer needed.

I hear ya

Why can't these guys get the side ribbon straight? Just sayin' . . . . .

They added the little trim bits ( missing in the 2012 auction ) by the 'Tiger' script in the wrong place and angled the door trim up to meet it... lol! Guessing they couldn't find the 'old' holes for the clips?

Just a little bit of solvent pop in that paint too. Lots of craters. Over riders in the front but not in the back?
