Selling Tiger, want to keep in California

Hello everyone, I've had my 1966 Mk 1A (B382000262) since 2011, and have been restoring it over the past few years. Unfortunately, we moved during that time to Charleston SC, and our new house has no garage, so thinking of selling the car in early Jan. It's an interesting story to it. Previous owner Carlo Bernadino and his dad Vitalian had the car since the mid 70s (Vitalian is listed as the owner in the Book of Norman entry, page 264). At some point, Carlo replaced the engine with a 289. Car was originally in Connecticut, followed Carlo around the country as he went to med school and residency. He had shown it at a few local meets and had it TAC'd in 2005. It wound up in California around 2008, where he was using it as his daily driver in Monterey. He sold it to me in 2011, and had set it up as a rally type car.

We drove it down to San Diego (great run on HW 1), and enjoyed it for a few years as a fun #3 driver car. Did the La Jolla Concourse Cruise and a bunch of other events. I started working on her with Smitty at Sunbeam Specialties around 2013. We pulled the subframe and did the reinforcement, went through the hubs and brakes, and started working on the trunk. I had to move in 2014, so took the car to Brad at Jenkinson Concourse and Customs to finish it. That pretty much turned into a full on restoration, which is getting close to being done. Just repainted, new interior and dash, and new wheels. New correct rebuilt 260 engine from Paradise Wheels, transmission and rear end are original. Car is great, probably a strong #2 when it's done. I wish I could keep it, but it's probably best to sell to someone who's got a garage and tools to work on it. We are planning on visiting it and driving it one last time in early Jan, and selling it after that. It also has a hardtop. I've also got a bunch of books and documentation on it. Nice car, about 65k miles, completely restored, and known history with 2 owners over the past 30 years. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Considering sale

It's a shame to sell for lack of a garage. Most of the car guys I know have rented garages for their fleet.

Brad has done some nice work. Some cars have been selling here and I told a gentleman that was looking at a local . One of the problems that have arisen was non members can't respond to the ads on CAT. You do not have to join the club to join the forum but there are benefits to doing both.

Nice Looking Car

It looks like the work done is very nice and the car will finish being a very nice, personalized Tiger. So sorry you are unable to have your car relocated with you to Charleston. There are a lot of active Sunbeamers in that part of the country.

Too bad your Charleston house does not have a garage.

Someone should get a nice Tiger.

Can't respond to the ad was what I was commenting on. This happens on most forums. Today I sent the ad to a friend of Georgia member B. Freeman his non member pal asked me about a project car. Today he got a buy it closer to done lead and invite. :)

Added some more photos, would like to sell in Feb

Hey everyone, I originally wasn't sure about selling the Tiger, but need to help kids with school loans, so looking to sell this month either here or on BaT. I have all the history of the car if people are interested, but it's been finished up now and Brad is doing final preps on it. We need to polish the paint, so it will look better soon. Took it for a drive earlier this month, runs really well. Here are updated photos showing it all together, as well as some shots of the restoration and what it looked like under the previous owner. Looking for $65k, please DM me with any questions.

Opinion # 47

Brad does really nice work and I think the price is quite fair.
just sayin'

Thanks, he's really done great work on the interior and all the paint/bodywork. Only wish I could hang onto it after the restoration.

Maybe new owner would like to put the correct clock in the dash.
Shouldn't that engine be blue?
