What size screws are you guys using to secure your shift boot trim ring? I was under the impression that they were #6x1 or so. I purchased this size in stainless and the heads go right through my trim ring. Any thoughts? -Thank you in advance.-Brad

I think I took the trim ring to the store and the result was either 8 or 10 size.

Well I guess that I can do that as well but I was concerned with enlarging the tunnel screw openings. I know, I know, that sounds silly but with the prices of these cars skyrocketing I am getting further and further away from doing anything to the car that is not original. The trim ring that I had on the car was retained with #6 screws and the new "correct" one provided by Bill Heeley has larger screw holes hence the confusion.-Brad

I don't know. Maybe the trim rings are different for a Tiger. I'm sure the one that Bill provided was one for a Galaxie which should have been the correct one, I think. Does anyone out there in Tiger land know for sure?-Brad

It appears chrome wasn't the stock on my late car with original carpet and no CAT club rubber Tiger pedal cover. The screws have the cross stampings as well . It's hard to see with the patina, I mean original schmutz...

Took one out of my Mk1 to measure, they are #10 x 7/8 (.192 thread dia.) oval head screws. Hole in trim ring is 3/16 (#10 size).
