I thought we needed a place to post photos of our cars. I will start-this is the Tiger I have owned for 35 years. It is like an old friend and today we took a drive in our wonderful 70 degree weather. I am parked in front of some of my parts cars! Eric

Neat Idea

47 years with this one. It was here before the kids & grandkids. Three major wrecks and years of rust under the barn. Stubborn critter it is though. Will pick out a nice docile motor this winter and gather up some blue lights & sirens in the spring. . . . . .

Eric, your car looks great. just need to black out inside the grill. that shows up so much more on a white car.

Randy.... very straight.. that will be very nice when its gets back on it's wheels. You should post some pictures of it before and after each resto.. see the evolution.. wasn't it raced at one point?

I have posted pics before but will add mine to this section as well. A new interior by Martha will be installed this winter, just waiting for a little free time.

Tiger by the Tail

Bonnie and I were traveling out of the country recently. Not practical to take our Tigers to Thailand but we borrowed this one (and several others in the cage) for a little Tiger belly rubbing.

A bit jealous here; always loved that part of the world and hung out fairly often as I could afford it. The crystal clear ocean waters of the south coast were a neat swimming spot, except for the baracudas inviting us to lunch . . .

Straight !! Not really

Thanks Michael, BUT, when you get up close the tweaks and curves show the aging and abuse wrinkles. The boys wanted to take it all apart and start over, but we want to drive the critter again in this lifetime, not be sharing the seat with St. Peter. Yes it was raced, sometimes actually on a sanctioned track. Turn 5 at the Glen was where the little Italian bride came out of the stands, stood over my mess and declared and end to the wild side . . . . . .

My restored 67 MkIa in front of a local British pub. Will be another five months before I can do that again...:(

OK, I'll play,

This is what my Tiger looked like in 2002 when it won Lord Rootes, in Lake Tahoe (the first year C. Shelby, and his wife Cleo came to a Tiger event).
Not bad for a 10+ year restoration, and a "driver" to boot.
The car is now in the paint shop while do some freshening up to the engine, trans and well worn clutch.

John,

are the Dunlop or Elite bolt on wires? Look to be 14"

What was wrong with getting cuddly with the other end :)

A beautifull animal, and looking rather large for public petting.

Hi Michael,
They are 13" wheels. Made in California (by a company that makes wires mainly for the "Low Rider" community). It uses a bolt on hub with splines for a functional knock-off and an offset that puts the wheel to the stock location.

John

John,

Next time you have a wheel off i'd love to see some pictures of the hubs front and rear.

Michael,
They are off the car right now.
If I get a chance I'll put them on my MKII and snap a close-up photo for you.

The hub is really quite a simple design and the wheels themselves were built very strong. I have had them for 15 years. Originally, I used them for auto crosses and even a few times for the Virginia City Hillclimbs (look it up on the internet). Never had a problem with the wheels (knock-offs safety wired on) except once one spoke came loose and had a small air leak (resealed on the inside and they were good to go). Never had any problem with stability even w/ a mod increase in hp. I have gone to a more stable wheel since I increased the hp significantly, but I still like the look of the wires better.

that would be great, really appreciate it. Are you still running the spline with a different knock on wheel? Or have hubs and wheels off the car? You could be one of the few people that could run the LeMans Tiger Dunlop alloy wheels or the HSC/SCF halibrands... that would be cool.. wires for the street alloy knock ons for some more serious fun.

so sorry!

Recent car wash... ;)
