Not to sure of the year of the s-10 and I’m not sure it matters too much. My tailshaft housing has the electronic speedo, so I presume it is from a late 80’s s-10. I plan on using a GPS speedo.

To the best of my knowledge the only difference in the tailshaft housing is mechanical or electronic speedo. It’s the same housing for the v6 and 4 cylinder.
 
One thing to check with an S10 T5 tailhousing, is the provision for a Reverse Brake.

Early tailhousings don't have them and late ones do.

Make sure to match the tailhousing to the trans, in that regard.

S10s stoped using the T5 in the mid '90s.
