For those of you who are thinking about making a last-minute decision to attend Tigers United, here are some things you might want to consider:
1) This is going to be the largest gathering of Sunbeam Tigers on the West Coast this year
2) I'm pretty sure you can just show up, pay your money and attend the event (but do please call Mike or Travis and let them know that you're on the way).
3) If you're thinking you're going to put off going until next year, remember: next year is an STOA year in Northern California. The year after that I'm hearing could be a SUNI year. After that, CAT may return to Santa Maria, and then STOA again. Big Bear is 2 hours away from the LA/Orange County basin. This is the closest you're going to get for a long time.
4) In the registration, there is an $80 autocross fee. I think you can just show up, pay $80, pass tech, and be part of an all Sunbeam autocross on Wednesday. Please check with Mike on this.
There is nothing better than an all-Sunbeam autocross.
5) I've only been going to Tigers United since the mid-'80s. Every time I attend a TU, I learn something new. Whether it's a restoration tip, which parts are the best to use on my Tiger, or just how to keep the car running on the road, TUs have saved me money over the years with all the stuff I've learned.
I would like to thank all the people who are doing a lot of hard work to make this event a success. Travis and Laurie; Dan, Mike are already in Big Bear working on the event.
