After just having returned from T50 event in UK thought I'ld would do a simple Sunday afternoon swap of my starter motor which sounded very tired. Big surprise however when I found the rebuilt one didn't fit into the engine spacer plate hole. Taking it out again and some measurements later I found the new one to be 3mm wider where it meets the plate. Hmmm...
Solution found was to just exchange the mounting flange. Pretty simple you just have to open up the two long threaded screws holding the starter together. Just if anybody is faced with the same issue in the future...
