I have added a disk brake kit (Dale's) to the rearend of my '64. I would like to consider "reuse" of the original rear brake line which runs from the front right fender to the the rear. My understanding is that it has bubble flares and is 3/16". Has anyone added an adapter to get an AN3 fitting onto this brake line? Part number/description/source?
I do have options: 1) fab and replace entire rear line with new 3/16" NiCop & AN3 fittings or 2) trim the bubble flare off and put a AN flare on the slightly shorter line.
The original rear line looks to be in good shape, though there is always the risk of corrosion (I blew it out with carb cleaner and air and it was okay). With the drivetrain already in the car, bending & installing a new NiCop line is a bit of a challenge, so I started thinking about reusing this one brake line. Then I looked at the BSP-AN3 adapters at Pegasus as well as the AN to metric thread male bubble flare adapter at ANPlumbing and realized I do not know what adapter might work. Suggestions? Thanks.
