The partition that seperates the trunk from the interior has holes at the top that screw into the cross panel at the top of the trunk. It also has press studs that attach to the lower cross panel What about the 2 per side press studs, where do they attach? to the inner rear wheel arch ? or onto the trunk cover panels either side

This piece was fastened to the body across the top by using rivets. The snaps fasten to the inner fender wells. Check to see if the holes for the male part of the snap is still there. One way to find where the holes should be is to snap the plastic channel over the flange running between the fender wells. Then mark where the holes should be. Leave the flange attached and you're done.
