The not functional Tiger anxiety, is it just me?

It bothers me beyond belief to have the Tiger laid up in the garage.

I always want the car ready to start and drive away. You see (could be the business I am in) if I should come to an unexpected end, I want the car ready to be driven out the door as an easy sell for my wife.

Having the Tiger in 1000 pieces in the garage really leaves me unsettled.

So, at the moment, I am at peace with my Tiger's current status.

Duke,

You are a young guy with no patients and that is not unusual. Give yourself 20 years and it won't bother you so much.

I was the same way but now it doesn't bother me to have a car under restoration for more than a year. Learn to relax

and have a glass of wine, it works wonders.

A Driver

I for one could not accept a month without driving the car. Different strokes for different folks but I have owned Tigers since 1987 and never had one painted. I use band aids and fix things that deadline the Tigers ASAP.

California is cold tonight but driving this weekend is looking to be ok.

Merry Christmas Duke! I know you will be back on the road soon.

Old school

Sez if it ain't broke don't fix it. But that said my 64 bug convert came back from paint shop missing parts and got covered now some 15 years later or so off comes the crap piled on top and I can see fenders again.
Got some hard to find parts on Samba forum she is back in sight and in process.

Things to do so a car doesn't get lost in the garage.
Do not put anything else on top of car, blankets rugs mattress etc.
Funny I drove it with top down and King size bed on top in my young and dumb days.
Do not remodel home before fixing car, most remodels never really get done especially if you are the contractor. Children maybe just a seasonal humbug will suffice.
Try not to hobby flip easy resto bikes motorcycles or cars
to fund other projects cause they are easier then digging out a car.
I could go on and on but I started with the If it ain't broke.....

We have great faith in you Duke, but that said
Don't let it rip your face off. As us mature guys say who can't turn away a stray project, say as long as the honeymoon isn't over the car is safe.
Oh and the best basket case and yours is TAC ed Tiger in case the worst happens.

You guys totally read my post wrong. The Tiger is in perfect, non leaking, condition in the garage right now. You could jump in it and drive it for days. That I am at peace with and it is not in 1000 pieces in the garage.

Other than a TKO tranny change, the car is about finished.....for now.

This cars are never done they are just work in process. You'll get that TKO
and then decide that maybe the engine bay needs to be repainted and that will lead to repainting the outside which leads to taking the whole car apart
leaving you with a garage full of 1000 pieces....Trust me I know !!
