I have a Cherry add on left by the PO, Cherry paneling that is where the false floor should be.

I have a SIV flase floor with a rust missing part. If someone has a pic or would make a paper template of theirs that would be great.

I think a fun thread would be posting pics or stories Mickey Mouse fixes from the PO, or that jury rig that got you home when in a pinch.

Seen some really creative plumbing on heater valves.

What Rube Goldberg fixes have you seen?

This what you want.

Warren you know you are going to open up some nasty wounds.......

When we pulled my professionaly built 289 and separated the
transmission I figured things might get ugly with the discovery of an old rusty
clutch. I was right because the whole lower end was toast due to a rue goldberg baffle plate held in place with sheetmetal screws that had been eaten by the rockers........didn't matter much when we found cheap pistons
on a 40 over bore....But you know the classic was the masking tape and bondo
covering up the fracture in the inner fender , I don't have a picture of that one
as the camera didn't survive the flight across the shop..

hmm, I need to one for my car before I do the interior this winter--what do these go for? Or would someone mind posting the dimmensions so I can have one made?

We keep them here (repaired) at the ready and rust free if you have the need. I also have the boys make up the little mount brackets for them . . . .

Yes Tigertamer

I have a SIV that looks much wider and I would like to adapt it. I/we Cobrakids need a template made. I could wait till the fix in and use someones there, but it seems a quick fix to my Alpine one and it feels good to get things outta the way.

I know one of our members sells one but I have too many other things I have to buy first.

Moondoggie I know they are old wounds but your car looks very right now and that has got to be satisfying.

There was a "there I fixed it" website and link of hilarious trailer trash et al fixes, seen some on ebay cars a hose bibb for a heater valve etc. They are funny just like Cobrakidz re purposed Sponge Bob car cover sheets.

Come on let's see those pics of the nylon stocking air cleaner, vintage toilet paper oil filter canister or whatever buggered PO fix you had to deal with.

I laughed when I pulled my door handles and found paper gasket like material there, but it turns out that was what they used in jolly ol England

Well Guyz: I could simply send you one for a LHD and, once your done copying it, send it back. ;)
As a resto-shoppe, we have seen scores of PO "make-it-work, Mr Goldberg" fixes. The latest was a late model cast iron water pump epoxy-sealed to an early open vane timing cover. It did work !!
