Tiger and Golf Ball Drivers....

I also play, for work reasons of course entertaining clients. A very addictive game, especially where I leave in the NW England - lots of fab courses to choose from.

Funnily enough, I'm at Royal Liverpool this coming Friday to watch the Open. It's very local to me so might jump in the Tiger and parade in the sunshine for the tourists :D

Best Golf outfit

Thanks god you guys aren't into pro bowling. Serial lurker and long time member Chuck Daly sent me this.

Great game great excuse to get outside with your mates and handicap yourself with beer.

Its a long shot but my shoulder and my drinking handicap lends better to 3 par or courses with a windmill:)

Maybe you guys have hit on something a CAT meeting and a short course.

My First Round

Duke,
My first round of golf was at Kunsan AFB, on the 9 hole course around a stinky cesspool we all thought was part of the base sewage system. That was in early 1974. I remember being chased off the course in fear of my life (and ability to father healthy children) when the Koreans decided to spray the course with insecticide, probably DDT, without notifying anyone in advance. The memory of running away from a DC-3 (I think) converted to a crop duster flying low over the course followed by a cloud of insecticide is etched in my brain!
There was a driving range, if you could call it that, in a vacant lot in downtown Kunsan where, for 100 won (25 cents at the time) you could hit balls off a mat at a target on an adjoining building maybe 50 yards away. In addition to the bucket of balls, one received the ball placement services of a young korean girl who would set a new ball on the tee after you hit.
I like your idea of driving Tigers to play golf, but at this point I'd have to tow it. Still on the rotisserie, and 40 years after my first round I'm still a hack. handicap is 16 and change!

Nice story...the Koreans are crazy about golf. You see the huge green net cages for multi level driving ranges all over the place. There is one between here and Camp Casey that for 10,000 won you get all the balls you can hit in an hour. The ball on the tee comes up from a hole in the mat, you hit the ball, tee goes down and then back up with another ball. Just hit them like a mad man. Will be going to Sung Nam again next Saturday. Is a very nice 18 hole course in the hills south of Seoul.

DDT is no issue unless you are birds egg. That stuff was great. spread a layer under your house and never, ever have an insect issue.
