Craigslist find

Brian thanks for posting this. Makes one hesitate as have had bad experience with junk yard owners. Posting moved to GTD as would appreciate other non members .02 cents as well as some ID on other cars.

I stumbled across this earlier this week and talked to the seller. He seemed like a reasonable guy and knows Tigers pretty well. He said he bought it about 30 years ago and never got around to restoring it. He told me it had no engine or transmission when he got it but he found a correct 260 for it and it and bolted it in place.
He mentioned the rough fender flares that can be seen in the photo.

$15K? Not sure about that but he said he just wants to go fishing...

Why is it so many people buy a resto project.. then park it uncovered in the elements .... Even if they ever get they get round to it the work will have become so much more extensive....

Tiger

Life sometimes gets in the way and good intentions such as the restoration of a car are pushed to the side. Things like family, work, and many other happenings and expenses take priority, not the car. So the car gets pushed aside.

So Cal

It is in the land where it usually only rains in in January through March.
Which is about the lifetime of a tarp from Harbor Freight maybe 3 months :)
Although there was no semblance of care for this poor car as well as the others. I have had a breaker tell me that he could get more from the state of Calunicornia to crush it then I'd pay him. He also said he owned Tigers and Cobras. So sometimes it's all about money maybe all the time. I don't understand it as a $500 or 750 car with three out of four quarter panels left. At that time you could buy Alpine's for much cheaper that actually rolled.
Possibly If you buy a car from a junkyard you get a salvage title.
There's also on Craigslist Paso Robles Ca. a drivetrain out of a Tiger and a 289 5 bolt.

The seller is a junkman. He acquired it as junk and has kept it that way. Not surprising, really.

Ha ha

He should coin a name like the Beverly hillz car club, which is nowhere near Beverly hills . They have had some Tigers that rival the condition of this car. What is it they say rode hard and put away wet. Come on man it was only wet for 3 months out of the year :) The shame is 5 years ago guys would be all over this car.

In my part of the world that is called the "rust belt" this car could be a good starting point. After all you'll find five year old pickups need bed sides and rockers. The DOT dumps liquid salt brine on the highways a day before a forecast of snow flurries.
