They hold the rear corner seal/pad in position. They can always be made from sheet tin, but it's nice to avoid the labor.

It looked like they could be made so they are bolted or riveted right on the hardtop Thanks for the info

Part of the poor design of the day.
Oops put the drain holes underneath the corner pads. I've got a couple laying around.

I have a pair of unused plexiglass 1/4 windows
Bryan I have some lexan I was going to cut some 1/4 windows out of if that doesn't work will get back with you, of course its winter here in Michigan so not doing anything now but Thanks

Here's my hardtop I'm restoring do the parts I was asking about fit here? Iv'e heard some hardtops may be different. Thanks

Also my pictures seem to be quite large do I need to resize them before trying to post

Getting close once I get the rear corner plates the only parts I should need is a new head liner
and rear window, Thanks for the help

Large pictures are ok until we run outta room. Ok I don't see the drain holes in your top maybe it's had work done on it before?
Small difference with the later tips having the hook for the soft top cover and the bigger buttons on the window latches. Not much on the plates as there not much more than one could fab in little time. I'm going to pile together all my top bits next week as I'm thinking on moving a car out.

Thanks Warren going to add a drain hole and do a test Fit this spring. Not that it's going to see much rain just wash water, but how does the drain hole work and how does water get under the seal and where does it drain? Just curious

The drain hole is of poor design and not functional.
It's purpose is for allowing condensation that happens within that pillar to find its way out rather than just rusting its way out because it's trapped by the rubber corner pad and it's metal hold down. That's part of the reason why hardtops in the UK are a pile of rust and good hardware with frozen screws in pot metal hardware. Garage queen's and trailer queens not left outside will likely outlive the owners unless they came with tin worms propagating in unseen crevices. IMHO always remove the corner pads if trading in hard tops. If a seller objects to a poke and prod of the car or top move on.

Made a deal on the corner pad brackets on ebay also ordered rear corner body seals from SS so have both now.
The rear corner seal to body have 6 holes in them and came with screws to mount them they match the holes already in my hardtop so where do the mounting plates go dont seem to fit anywhere on the hardtop rear corners not even sure why I need them. Little bit confused. Thanks

Looks like I have the wrong part could shorten it and drill new holes but why couldn't
I just use some washers the seal is pretty stiff
