Tiger hardtop

Thanks Eric, I've reshaped it to match as best I can, but there is a slight tear where the molding was creased. Does anyone sell replacement molding?

I had the same on mine. One straight and one bent in. Wasn't sure either so just left them the way they were.

would someone please post a close up picture of the rain gutter molding at the front edge. The moldings on my top do not match from side to side and I'm not sure how the front edge is supposed to be shaped. I'm thinking the one of the left is closer to being accurate but I really don't have a clue.

One on the left.
I have a set if you get in a pinch and get that straight.

Not the best pics , hard to see details. Looks like the same one that was on for 99 bucks last week .

Pics are barely marginally better than when the item was first offered.
I asked the seller a few specific questions about the condition of the top and his reply was a completely vague "yes."

Maybe he's not really serious about selling or the price. Or maybe he simply enjoys being mysterious.

Quién Sabe?

Price seem to be posted in a wide range, since you have personally viewed this HT, you can research and estimate costs to buy and restore. I advise to buy at the least expensive price that both buyer and seller believe to be fair. I have 2 HT's, one beyond repair or restoration and one with some rust. This is going to be an expensive proposition to complete. That being said(typed) I would try for under $1,000, depending on extant of condition. Good luck,

I was just offered a hardtop that has been in dry storage for the last 35 years. The owner sold the Tiger at that time, but retained the top. I'm looking for an idea of $ value. Basically will need full restoration, but all trim, and latches are intact. Plexi and headliner intact but will need replacement. Some rust on the inside of one dog leg.

Ok, picked up the top. Totally complete, no dents and very little rust in one dog leg. Now making a list for restoration. Do you suggest plexi or glass during restoration?

Price paid......

I bought a beautifully restored top with headliner not installed for for $1200 about two years ago and still consider that the good guy treatment by seller!!!

Agree, and depending on the condition of the clasp(s), re-chroming these pieces can cost a small fortune. I'm easily going to have over $2000 in restoration with me doing most of the labor.

Chrome costs: The high-end guy we used on the top latches only can run $400.00 - ish per set depending upon starting condition (rust/pitting/dings). The driver quality guy is not much cheaper, but the difference in workmanship is noticeable.

Sounds about right. My front latches and rear posts are going to cost $900 to redo. I had planned to have the side and window latches done, by that was going to cost upward of $3500 to have them disassembled, chromed and repined. I'm going to buff them out as best I can and try to ignore them.
