Down from 15, then 12,990.00 and 10,000.
Pretty complete car wonder where tags went,
 
Perhaps the VIN now resides on a rebadged Alpine, the car is very complete otherwise, except for those parts lost to salt. I can only imagine what the frame looks like.

The seller states vin no. on title so he must have that. You are supposed to have a vin no. to sell on eBay per listing guide lines. It is really too bad that somewhere the tags may be attached but its more likely to have gone away in other estate pile of trash or treasures.
Having been to many sales it often looks like tornado aftermath quickly...
If seller posts the no. someone can know they have a rebody or worse. With any luck he will put up pic of title.

I think the seller is saying that he/she has no title and that the VIN plate is missing. I believe all they got was a bill of sale from the estate. It is hard to know for certain the way it was written up, with run-on sentences. Perhaps someone can tell what the VIN should be based on the engine S.O. number.

What you get when you buy something from estate sale , at least in my experience ,
you get the taillight warranty. Or in this case the tow trucks tailights warranty .

If this was in Cali. it would have to be dragged on a trailer to the CHP , after waiting probably 2 weeks for an appointment . Then possibly left in their custody until they decide what to do with it. I bet the Pennsylvania CHP would be pulling his hair out looking for a secondary hidden VIN number someplace. Who knows what they would do uncertain outcome aside from its Flintstone floor boards.
 
Seller says ..."This car would make a great parts car if you are restoring a tiger. or a nice race car or if you really wanted you could restore it."...
Hopefully the new owner chooses 'parts car' and puts an end to the misery...
In a perfect world, he would send off those 'matching' trans and rear diff #'s to Norm and he could file the cross referenced VIN # under 'destroyed' :eek:

Hard to believe still zero bids.......sent it to Arizona this weekend for the auctions and it would bring $30k easily.

He might have cut a 'private' deal and saved the e-Pay selling fees !

Don't worry

EBay made its money on reserve fee.
But my bet is he has gone back to seller to find paperwork ,
It's a rusty pig in a poke without it and the tags.
 
I suggest you warn folks away from this one. There is no way to identify the original "Commodore Blue" MK II being presented. Several attempts have been undertaken in front of this auction and sadly, it simply cannot be done. Now the car is being offered with "clean" (their term) paper and plates from another MK II to facilitate a "VIN" swap. If I've got the back story details correctly, the resurrected ID elements come from a "JUNKED" (my term) "Forest Green" Pennsylvania machine. Rest assured the Registry will have copious notes cover the chassis numbers involved.

That MKII surfaced in about 2009 IIRC? same time as the un-vined un-jal MKI rolling shell. Cant believe its still kicking around as it is... :(
