tool set on ebay

What is the Seller's Intention?

why fault people for making an effort.

We all are familiar with the misinformation that was out there on Wikipedia. We have a duty to try to separate fact from fiction when it comes to Tigers. The eBay posting says that this is the right socket and bar for the Tiger. It is not. Had the seller indicated that it was similar to the correct part, no one would have had any problems with his listing. But he chose to leave out that bit of fact. Why? Most of us would assume that he is trying to make more money off the part than what he would make if he had included the true information. I agree with you that people who make an effort to get a tool that is close to the original are making an effort, especially when the correct tool is very hard to come by. But labeling the incorrect tool as the correct one is just dishonest. I think that is what the postings here on the Forum are trying to reflect.

As a newbie still in the "got to have it" phase (that was dead-on and made me laugh and take a step back!), just wanted to thank Lee and the rest of you for calling an incorrect piece as you see it. One of the many plusses to being on this site.

It's the same incorrect one that he is trying to foist off on the unsuspecting as a Sunbeam Tiger socket set.

The photos show the correct socket set.

He's hiding the truth in plain site by the wording he is using and mentioning E61 so the buyer has no comeback.
He is preying on the uneducated in the Tiger community.

Weasel Words - NOT

In spite of the weasel words used, the seller still labels the spark plug socket and wrench as being for a Sunbeam Tiger. They are not. This, to me, is still false advertising. Why can't the seller simply say that this is a spark plug and wrench similar to the right one for a Sunbeam Tiger?

....because that won't get him the big bucks.
....because he is a _______ (Sorry Warren, I know you're just doing your job but it's true).

Civil

Keep it civil. He has a another name too and uses this eBay name to sully the name of a fellow member of CAT, STOA and Tiger registry . We don't need to say anymore.

It is a good thing that you all have brought it to our attention again. For those who are members of TEAE etc. and Facebook repeat your warnings there.

This particular seller went by the name Mikeflbmer or something very close is in Jupiter Florida on eBay previously a no longer registered seller. The name is active on SAOCA

Unless anyone objects the good parts of this thread will be moved trimmed and fluffed and put in a good place as a good reference tool rather than what we got going here after his auction ends.
