Trunk Hinge Heli-Coil

Dang, while replacing the trunk hinge gaskets, I noticed a stud had pulled out as I GENTLY snugged up the nut!
Debated whether to use a Time-Cert or Heli-Coil, went with the cheaper Heli. Tightened all back up with just enough torque to hold in place. Hope it holds.

Nice Job

It looks like a nice job. Looks like it should hold fine.

Good thing is that no one can tell there is a heli-coil in there when the hinge is installed.

Thanks for sharing!

At the shop we have those 2-part industrial adhesives in the dual tube guns. What I've done w/hinges is bead blast the hole and then bed the stud in the adhesive for 24 hrs. It's about as permanent as they get. . . . .
