Hi,
I did a search on Rockauto and Autozone for upper and lower rad hoses, but they don't show for a Tiger.
Would the hoses be the same as on a '65 Falcon?
Thanks Paul, but I'm in the process of flushing the cooling system, so I need something local.
Did some more searching and found Goodyear #60710/Autozone #211 recommend for the upper on the Tigers United site, and Dayco 70682 for the lower hose, but apparently you have to shorten that one by about 5".
Hi Paul:
I replaced those hoses with the ones Rick sells, and yes, one of them (unfortunately I can't remember whether upper or lower)did need to be shortened.
The lower hose needs to be shortened. I played around with the fitment (install on one side, see where it lands, flip the hose, do again etc) before cutting to ensure I had no potential kinks and best clearances.
I recently got hoses from Classic Sunbeams pre-cut, and the upper was interfering with the 6-blade fan. I had to make a bracket to hold it away from the fan, but if the leg on the radiator side had been longer it might have cleared. Keep that in mind when trimming-- better to trim more on the engine side vs. the radiator side.
^That looks like it could work for the upper if it was cut down to just a single, long "S", taking off the shorter "S"...if you follow. Hard to tell without knowing the length
The upper Rick sells doesn't require any cutting. It is the lower that needs trimming.
20686 is the number I got. The last digit in attached pic kind of looks like a 5 but is a 6. You want the long section with the sharper bend uncut end to the rad. I just cropped these pics from older ones so not real clear.
