I used to buy w/s from Victoria British as they were stupid cheap... Moss bought all of the old stock when Long Motors decided to divest the British parts bidness and concentrate on trucks which was their bread and butter anyhoo... anyone out there have an old VB catalog with the part number that they used for the w/s????

The last I heard Moss had all of the stuff from VB stored in trailers. Have they done anything with it recently?

still stored in containers in the parking lot in Goleta. they have been integrating some of the stuff into their stocks

They're probably starting to pull parts for their core business. When I call an order in I ask if they have any idea if they will be selling any of the Sunbeam parts. I always get the same answer since they don't have any idea. Sunbeams have never been a part of their business so if you think about it what would the cost be to add them to their inventory, print catalogs and spend the time to do all the other needed work including employee cost to include Sunbeam parts. Their are many times more cars using the items in their core business than the number of Sunbeams left.

YUP: if I could get one of them to visit the trailers, I would buy all the "Beam" windscreens.
 
I suggested SEVERAL times that they contact Rick at Sunbeam Specialties... Just fell on deaf ears. I've been a distributor for Moss for over 30 years....
 
So.... I have been in contact with Moss for several years..... trying to buy windscreens for the Alpine 3-5 and Tiger... I have finally found that they have between 20-30 of them... I had initially said I'd like 3-5 dependent on pricing. Randy Willet said he wanted the rest..... until he found out how many they had. After talking with my wholesale rep at Moss, I get the feeling that they'd sooner throw all of them in a dumpster, than piece meal them out. I am prepared to buy them all.... BUT.... They are going to cost 2X as much if I do.
 
I may take two. Sean since you have opened this up in the forum I'll bring it up if I can drag myself to the Saturday meeting. I know at least 3 guys in the Goleta area.
Seems like every parts car has a wiper scored screen so it's not just rock damage.

Do they delaminate with age ? Showing discoloration around the edges
 
Since Warren brought it up, and I am not discouraging the windshield buy, but it is amazing what can be polished out by professionals. These wiper scratches polished out and you cannot detect they were ever there.

The w/s stock isn't in Goleta... for some reason it is in Virginia... for people to buy one or two, the shipping would be a problem. If I can manage to buy them all, I'd get it free shipped due to my dist. status... Right now the problem is getting Moss to go through with the sale. They have indicated that they aren't interested in selling them piecemeal. For 2 years now, I haven't even been able to get them to confirm that they even had them., Finally got confirmation that they did last week and found out possible quantity of stock yesterday. They still haven't given me pricing
