I think they wrap around the fuel line for the bracket things at each end of the tunnel but I'm not sure. They are about 1 inch long and 1/2 inch diameter.

What do you think?

At first I thought about the rubber grommets for the traction bars.....I'm sure I am way off though. :(

Of Bell housing had a small metal stamped plate which kept the rubber captive and the metal line fed thru it. But lots of fingers were on that old M1a of mine.
 
Multi-use

Both fuel & brake line buffers look the same. The ridge at both ends traps the piece so it won't drift out of position.
