Hi all,
On the front wheels, I'm re-packing the wheel bearings, which are in good shape. Once I remove the seal to get the inner bearing out, I'd like to have new seals to put in. Is there a source for these at my local NAPA, etc, or are they special order?
Thanks,
Bill

I used to have good luck by cleaning the old seal and taking it down to my parts suppliers where, with some ID, OD and depth measures, we could compare it with shelf stock or cross the part # to existing manufacturers. The younger generation relies on keyboard entries and has no clue what, where, how, or why. Rick at SS has them. enjoy, r

When I did the bearings and seals on my alpine a few months back my local napa had enough to do 1 wheel in stock and they had the other bearings the day after and the other seal the day after that. It was for a series 2. Just get the numbers stamped on everything to the guy and he can cross it. He told me a few 60s fords used the same stuff.

seals

you could call sunbeam specialties and have him ship them to you. they are the same seal as the series 4 and 5 alpine so he has them in stock.

In the end, I got them from Rick. He was kind enough to give me a part number, but none of the usual parts stores could even cross-reference it. I think SS is the only place in the US that has them! Thanks, guys. :):)
