This one went back to Jolly old England. It is listed as well under the cars for sale section here on CAT

Amazing how stuff is lost in translation, and how little guys who sell on cars really know.

There are some nuggets of fact as the former owner paid someone to do all the mods, except the C-4 trans which he said was in the car when he got it. The car had a huge amount of money thrown at it and all the original bits except air cleaner and expansion tank got sold off or given away. I wish that someone would have gotten the car locally, he did tell me in person what it sold for. Despite it's dated mods it was a pretty nice car. Contrary to the eBay listing a 58 code car and early enough to be a black dash car, I think.

According to Jerrold the P.O. the guy could not take the original gas tanks and a bunch of small bits as the buyer said I can't ship them with car. It seems really strange that the water temp valve a pocket size trinket was left:D I was just happy that he called me and said come get em before I have estate sale as he then moved to senior home. Most of those bits will be added to the pile of stuff for my MK1 some go to the fix in swap meet. The club ad brought the U.K buyer, I had offered to do a Craigslist ad and he said his daughter would do it . She was confused newer Mustang owner and chose to keep the Stang and let dad sell on the car with the real legs, Doh!

Over There

In Germany for the 1 pic guy. That is probably someone fishing for a deposit to abscond with.

Isn't armchair tiger stalking fun!

I was wondering when the car would show up. I sat in this car, not a good one to wear shorts in and dangle bare legs over the too loud obnoxious Harley like pipes. They look cool, but the functionality 2nd degree burn potential is  too much.

Warren--I guess you never owned or rode in a Cobra--real or replica. You get used to the cool sound and learn after one burn to stretch your legs on exit. Hopefully this car goes to someone who will actually drive it and enjoy it.

When i got my tiger it had side exit exhausts.. but under the floors and just poked out before the rear wheels.. not hanging out the sills.. the only Sunbeam i've seen where it looks good hanging out the sills is the HSC55 car.. but they are recessed into the sills.. the gulstard tiger has a similar setup as did the HSC tribute car... all th eothers make it look to low on the car.. or they project to far outside the body line... IMHO.

back in the open exhaust days...

Branded by Exhaust Waffle

My shorter stature "passengers" (AKA cup holders) quickly learned to stand inside the car and step out rather than try and swing their legs over the exhaust waffles. Once selling a piece of real estate to an older couple I noticed the tell tale brand on the lady's calf. She made sure her hubby was out of earshot before she told me she had a "friend" with a Cobra a long time ago. Musta been a four-beer rally . . . . .

Sound

I like the sound fine but everything has a place, this car is pretty darned loud. Burned my legs on lots of cycle pipes and even ankles as no socks sometimes. Don't hate us So. Cal. guys cause we can and do wear shorts nearly year round:cool:

tempting

Never saw or heard a better set of side pipes than Sandy's Muffler in Culver City put on my Tiger in the early 70's...
never burned myself, but low ground clearance was an issue- learned to go diagonally over any bumps...
