I need to have an entire cars worth of items chromed. Are there still any good places in So Cal that are reasonably priced? I've been to Van Nuys Plating and Astro Plating. If not due to EPA, where do you send to? Need a place that can handle repairs as well. Thanks

No fast flash chroming allowed: The very last good chrome guy we have in the Nor'east is a busy boat & bike curmudgeon. Obligatory attitude of "old, mean, hate people & smell bad", and it's a 100 mile trip from here. BUT, he does the whole process the way it's supposed to be done (at his pace, not ours). De-chrome/acid dips/copper build smoothed/nickel/chrome/polish/etc. The EPA is waiting for him to screw up or die . . . . .PS: He ain't bashful about holding his palm out to be filled either.

very nice chrome

Verne's chrome plating (best chrome winner numerous times L A roadster show) 323/754-4126 Fax 323/754-3873 1559 El Segundo Blvd. Gardena Calif.90249

If you need Pebble Beach, go to Christensen plating in Vernon. It takes FOREVER and costs you at least your first born.

If you want Redondo Beach, go to Vern's, not cheap, buy still good quality. I had them straighten and chrome my bumpers and bumperettes years ago and they came out perfect.

If you can get by with Rosarita Beach, go to Supreme Plating in Inglewood. See Luis. I have most of my stuff done there, decent, the least expensive and close by.

ABC is definately the right place to go for plating. Fair price great work. I compared it to a well know show chrome place and it was equal or better at one third the price.

I used Decorative Metal Finishes in Escondido.

Very happy with the quality and the experience.

When I went to DMF in Escondido to get my Tiger parts chromed, they didn't seem particularly interested in chroming my parts. In fact, when I arrived, everyone acted like I was invisible for about 15 minutes.
After a lengthy wait, they quoted me a "heart attack" price (we're talkin' $800 bumpers and $40 to $50 for every tiny piece) and several months lead time...
I looked around a little and found International Chrome Plating in Chula Vista. They're a little hard to find (PM me before you go or you might never find it), but did excellent work and at about a third of what I was quoted other places. They take everything to their shop in Tijuana to do the actual work, so they can still use the nasty 'ol chemicals that make it look great. International has done lots of work on show cars (mostly low riders and '50's hot rods, but chrome is chrome). The best part is that they had my parts (everything on a Tiger that has chrome on it) back to me in a WEEK.

At International it was about $700 for the whole cars worth, both bumpers, both of which needed major straightening, 4 overriders, a couple of which needed major straightening, b post caps, mirror and sun visor brackets, wind wing frames and associated parts, front turn signal housings, which had large holes in them that they soldered up and made invisible, Grill badge surround, hard top clamps (actually did the sets off both cars), rear hard top locating pads and pins, door strikers, cowl vent covers, original valve covers (which I subsequently couldn't use due to roller rocker travel), trunk floor and strap cleats, and a few other miscellaneous parts including a couple that I don't know what they are but were in the box with the Tiger parts when I bought it so I figured I'd chome them and figure it out later.
I bought new everything that I could, door handles, trunk handle, gas cap, trunk hinges. I would have bought the SS Stainless bumpers, but they didn't have any in stock and I wanted to put the car together for TU.
