Are there supposed to be some sort of mounting blocks for the windscreen to the body. My panel man tells me in the instructions that came with the rubbers there should be. There were not any there before.

Cheers Mal

Besides the full length frame-to-body seal, there is a wedge shaped hard rubber shim at each corner. These are often lost during rehab. The thicker part of the wedge goes toward the rear nearest the A-post. The object is to resist the crush when the corner nuts are tightened and hold the screen at the optimum angle for alignment. There is an aftermarket kit for adjustments, but I've never had to use one.

Mal,

The windscreens have a mastic seal under the rubbers and as Randy said 2 hard rubber wedges that angle the screen forward (lift the trailing edge) sunbeam specialties sells a kit tha allows adjustment at the edges to align the screen is a great little part and worth it to get a good screen to 1/4 window gap.. make sure you have the screen correct and solid before setting the soft top frame and then top install.

most if not all of the original rubber wedges are almost useless at this stage of their lives. we have several of them and they are in various stages of flat, creased and many other shapes that render them useless as a wedge. we have found that they are crammed into the space in the frame due to owners coming down tight on the bolts in previous years. our body man says he does most of his adjustment using the other three bolts. he does fill in the space in the windshield frame. that gives him a solid surface to work with.

Thanks for the replys guys. I will talk to him on monday about your suggestions. I am sure now I know what was used we will be able to make something up.

Cheers.
