I bought one a few years back (I was thinking that the car would be finished quicker than reality) and am just now haveing the glass installed. So far all is good. Victoria British was great to deal with and shipping was flawless. Good luck. Doug

Yes, I ordered on two years ago and the packing was great, installation with a new gasket was pretty easy.

Windshield

I have used the Victoria British windshield 2 years ago with no problems. Sunbeam Specialties were out of stock and so were the other choices. My installer had no problem with the windshield from Victoria British.

Late last year I checked for a windshield with VB. They only had tinted available at that time and I wanted a more original look.

Pilkington Glass ((800) 345-9595) imports clear windshields from Europe so that's where I got mine.

Windshield rubber

I just got a new windshield from VB. The rubber they sent is just a roll of flat rubber. Did anyone use the molded rubber from SS with their VB windshield? Thanks.

I recently had my VB windshield installed using SS rubber and it worked well.

windshield from Pilkington

In the Sunbeam Specialties catalog I have, there is a note to directly contact Pilkington, Intl., for windshields at (800) 345-9595. I called the other day and talked to Randy who said they have both clear and tinted green in stock. He quoted $240.00 for the windshield and $75.00 for shipping from their place in Columbus, Ohio to my place in Virginia Beach, VA. From what I hear, their windshields are accurate.

I just got off the phone with Rick of Sunbeam Specialties he told me that Pilkington is no longer selling to the general public.
Not only that most of those distributors in California are gone.
But Rick told me that if you find somebody with a glass shop here's the part number FCW 165CL
The CL means clear.
If you want to get tinted across the top you would put GN .

I'm not sure if this was posted in the past, so here it is again.

As I posted recently, Tim Morin has a couple of good used windshields. PM me if you want his contact info.

I was in the market for a Tiger windscreen. I got mine professionally polishedand it came out great.

In the process, I pursued a Pilkington windscreen.

After finally getting thru to Pilkington USA, they told me they no longer sell direct and I would have to go thru an auto glass installer. I asked who was their rep in the Orlando area. They gave me a phone number of a company. I got a quote as follows:

"No don’t do any scratch removal myself so the glass is $415 plus $50 shipping Then I get 175 labor plus tax"

I also got a quote from Pilkington in the UK. They will ship direct, but you don't want have them ship to the USA. Their quote was:

"Good afternoon

Hi Mike:

There are two windshields on ebay right now. One has the full stainless trim and the other is naked. I have also posted here that Tim Morin in Texas has a couple of good Tiger windshields. Unless you specifically want a brand new windshield, there seems to be several available right now.

I inquired at MOSS since they bought VicBrit but have not gotten back any word about windscreen stocks?

Randy,
I placed an order with Moss a couple months ago and I asked if they will carry Sunbeam parts after buying VB. The guy on the phone had no answer.

From what I understand about the purchase, it was more about Moss buying the VB name and that they may not even buy the inventory, much less continue it. That was some time ago and I have no idea what has occurred since. But it's a question that some may want to ask. I think we all understand the VB inventory carries some baggage.

Ha that's pretty funny buying the VB name with the aforementioned baggage.
The reason I restarted this one year old thread was to make the point that Pilkington is specializing and wants to only deal with glass installers and professionals in the business of installing not a DiY type.

I recently ran into a old pal who is a manager at a large production body shop. He told me we leave it " glass" to the vendors who come in and do the job. I could certainly ask him for his guys contact info.
I have a deep wiper scratch on one car.

I have a bunch of used windshields, and probably wouldn't want to use any of them, as I think they all have wiper marks. I should chuck them all out, but just haven't found an urgency, as I have the room for now. Maybe I'll have to get the toothpaste out... Contrary what is posted in the other thread, I read on FB that Moss advised someone they are currently carrying out a detailed inventory of VB Sunbeam parts, and may still set up a separate catalogue for the marque. Doesn't surprise me there differing stories, as Moss upper management probably hasn't provided the direction yet..

My car's windshield had bad wiper scratches. They were deep enough to catch your nail, which online says they can't be polished out. I hired a company https://superglass.com/ and they did a fantastic job. It cost $150. They also polished my Lotus driver's window for $50. Good as new.
