does anyone have any info concerning the dual edge wiper blades that fit the tigers?

blades

I saw some for sale and I wondered what series of tiger used them. the person that originally sold them has been working on tigers for many years. Michael, do you know any history of them?

Lucas wiper blades with two edges per blade were installed at least on the early MKI Tigers and probably the MKIV Alpines. They had a special name that I can't remember. Apparently not very successful because you can't find them.

I will actually disagree with Dude on this.. it was my understanding that the Lucas and Trico twin blades were offered for the MKIA Tiger and MKII... I dont have a copy of the BON but it lists them in there and from which cars they were used. Perhaps they were also called "aeramic" blades

I had 2 sets NOS in the boxes, sold one set for $35 without realising what they were (was hunting correct series 3 trico rainbow heads at the time)

Dont have the remaining pair with me at the moment, but can access them by the end of the week for a part #/picture.

blades

the complete blades and refills that I have are trico. the guy I bought them from has been restoring tigers for many years and we weren't sure which particular car they were used on so I thought I would ask. will someone with a BON clarify which car they were on.

You owe me

Page of a publication I have to do something i have never done: "prepare" for judging.

B947001 to 9473100 (Whatever that means?)

In part: Lucas supplied under another companies patent for Tiger A unique double edged blade for Tiger production. Employed to keep the windshield clear. Duh? The photo is not very clear? Could be single or double blade?

Rick.. there you go..

Dude.. I was incorrect.. i thought they were for later cars .. apparently for the first 3100 cars.

The wipers have 2 rubber blades on the head "twin blade" I have some modern twin blade rubbers on the alpine.. found some that fitted the original head.. RainX still does a better job than the wipers.

I have never handled one but I have seen a drawing from the Rootes Engineering Drawings Collection d/d 6 Oct 1966. Says its for Alpine V & Tiger II and based on Lucas Drawing Nos 54701064 and 54715780.

Specifically beneath the illustrations is: 'Aeramic Blade (Twin Lip)' and 'Arm Pressure 11-13 oz at tip'.

Graham,

That's interesting.. i said earlier I thought they were for the late cars.. but Rick gave the BON reference for them being for earlier... I am positive i had read they were for the late cars.. and had thought it was a BON reference.. must have been somewhere else.

Do you want some pictures of them in the box?
