NPS is a possibility.

Duke.......If you have a chance at the NPS that would be a fantastic career
move for you.....I live a few miles away and I did my masters in Engineering
at Cal Poly years ago but I often get the chance to talk with the current
students and I am always impressed...if I can help in anyway let me know.

Always a possibility of me applying....thing is, it is an additional four year service obligation commitment and I already have a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle.

Weight added.....used magnets. The magnets on the outside also offer more wind resistance. Will get the camera mounted again to see what is happening.

That is a really elegant solution to this age-old problem. It would seem that Moondoggie has it right - couple this with a heat shield/cold air box for the carb, and solves issues both at rest and at speed.

I didn't see a spring mechanism. Is it built into the hinge?
