Fuel Thread

I bought a new SU AZX 1308 fuel pump, and I'm having a problem getting the right fitting for the outbound fuel line to the SU pump. The old pump wasn't a SU, and used hoses clamped above the compression sleeve of the existing Tiger 5/16" tubing. I am adding a fuel filter, so I bought a banjo fitting for the pump inlet, and was hoping I could just reconnect the outlet of the pump to the original tube going to the engine bay. I talked to Mark at SU Fuel Pumps and he said it was fitting AUB 655, it fits the SU fine, but doesn't fit the the compression nut! :(. Funny thing is the threads on the Autolite 2100 fuel filter fit the compression nut perfectly. Those threads are 1/2"-20 I think, and are straight .490" diameter threads. The AUB 655 threads are .510" diameter, and a slightly different pitch. Sorry for the long explanation.

Anyone know where to get the correct fitting to connect the original 5/16" tube fitting to a SU carb?

Thanks, Ken

OK: One time and then yer on your own. The nut is a straight BSS. I have a few left here $$$$. The adapter between the nut and the pump can be had at RicK's S.S. BIG BUT: The machining of the adapter is not finished for some strange reason on the nut end. First, you will need to drill a 1/4" hole all the way thru the fitting. 2nd, using a step drill, drill a 5/16" pocket to receive the tubing no more than 1/4" deep. The adapter comes with the correct rubber "O" ring on the pump side. The rest is common compression mechanics. Amen

The thread was listed elsewhere. I would guess it's the same as the one that is on the cross over tube.
Some guys use a small ball valve so you don't have to drain tanks to change fuel filter like a MK2, what were they thinking....
