What's your recipe for 454 HP?
ok, what am I missing? I see 386hp (which is still very impressive).

Just gotta tweak the exhaust, install the drive shaft and bleed the brakes. Then its time to see if all leaks have been fixed.
If you see a mushroom cloud towards the center of the US, it's my head that exploded because the car is still leaking.
Drip Drip Drip.....how did it go ???
Good and very bad.
Oil pan, rear main and tranny seem to be dry now.
When the engine was out I re-torqued the intake and heads. For sure caused a leak in the intake which about filled the crankcase with coolant.
I may get the distinct pleasure of pulling the heads while the engine is in the car. That will be one hell of a task.
Good thing its the winter time.
Heads are off, gotta order parts and then re attack.
Every single time (no exceptions) when we remove aluminum heads, we check the mating surface for flat. Too many times the darned things have moved and won't seal worth a darn without a gentle surfacing. The torque proceedure if fairly strict also . . . . . . 2 cents
Having the heads cleaned and surfaced. Please share your torque procedure.
That thing is sweet... while i'm sure most of us dont want to be pulling and building multiple motors i short sequence.. what a great way to make sure all is right before it goes in, especially with something like a Tiger.
that said, when i get round to the next motor build on my alpine i'd love to bolt it up to that with the DCOE's hanging out in the air.. would make a lovely living room addition![]()
