It very much does matter to me that my car is a real Tiger. I was really agreeing with you but now I have re-read my post I can see how you have interpreted it. I have heard that there may have been some differences in the two bodies from pressed steel at manufacture but have not ever heard what they are. I think STOC was hoping to find solid evidence of it in the archives.
A tiger needs to have come from Jensons doors not Joe Blogs.
You intrigue me with your comments on my car. I would be most obliged if you could kindly explain why you think my Tiger is an Alger. PM me if you wish.
No, Pressed Steel assembled each body to be a Tiger OR an Alpine. While assembling the body, they knew which it was for and used the correct steel components for each. Alpine bodies are different from Tiger bodies, regardless of how similar they look.
If it doesn't matter to you if your car started off its existence as an Alpine instead of Tiger, that is fine. Just please don't try to convince others that it is a Tiger. That is the fraud that some others have spoken about.
