The black plastic back on mine is gone so I could even use the housing, back only, or a mirror with bad glass

If it would be of help, I do believe I have a spare metal backed small mirror w/base stem (not plastic covered). I have seen both metal and plastic covered small interior mirrors but do now know on what cars used, etc. ? anyone know this

Tigers and series 3/IV/V had the vynil texture heads and raised plastic surround for the mirror.

The early alpines Si/II had painted body iirc

The ones that were metal were on the earlier Rootes cars Super Snipe. I saw one in a pile at an estate sale .

How about a source for the funky rivets that hold the ball of the pot metal clamp to the mirror base. The plastic has a faux leather pattern too.
SS had a late mirror with the day night flip function.

I have one, but it is not in great condition. I have a late model 1a, but it came with this model incorrect mirror. Thus, I have the old rectangular mirror.

Thanks but it looks like mine with the crumbled plastic.
Surely someone has figured out a way to restore these? Will put it on my growing list of things to do..........

Jemca is the manufacturer. Once in a Blue moon they show up on eBay UK. Maybe one of the UK hoarders has one.

The Austin Healey 3000 uses the same mirror, but they dont seem to have the some plastic insert that gives the mirror the raises edge.

That would be the MK3 version of the Austin Healey 3000 AFTER CH # 26705. But the back is wrinkle finish paint and not plastic, like the Mk1A. My understanding on the earlier Mk1 mirror is that there are/were 2 versions. Early cars had flat glass and later MK1's had convex glass.

I have some of the tubular rivets!
